Butter-Double Cream Based Scone with drip coffee
Fresh from my oven!
A large perfent of butter, besides with double cream. Quite rich, full bodied yet fluffy. Slightly tender, bready, delicate never eggy. Merely hint of cornmeal had a role as buffer to the delightful texture and mouthfeel. It’s really useful to make it moist. There is no flavoring at all, already exceptional on itself. Aftertaste will make you keep your own one sitting. So airy and dreamy bliss as is.
Jam/clotted cream could be good, I always omit for this scone. Given the flavor of it, definitely worth the featured role.
Drip coffee will be the very best accompaniment, certainly better than espresso shot. It could bring it out the sweet spot for perfect breakfast. Even if you have no time for contemporary high tea, this combination will give you some sort of consolation.
