Happy Halloween everyone🎃
Olives Corn Cheese Scone and Sweet Potato Brioche with a soft egg
accompanied by a drip coffee
No trick or treating, no gourds. Even not my Friday. I know, no way, never get close to that as it should be. It makes me feel a bit sorry though. On top of that, what a vacation hangover🤦♀️ Still it’s all mine, so be it. Bring it on!
Almost refined sugar free as to a festive and scrumptious look🍠🌽🧀
The middle ground between a typical Brioche and quite a bready puff pastry bread. Obviously It was worth making the effort using a rolling pin and little leftover butter stick.
A soft egg did a great job for catchy delight. It’s inspired by the way serving buttery Msemen with yellow Tagine, all the time good in a few important ways. The point is, making it combine the white part inside Brioche and soft egg yolk. If you’d like to try, it might be better to use a good pile of streusel in making step.
Drip coffee would be better than others including Espresso. Aftertaste wise, it has an edge over all others.
Just as you know, sweet potatoes diced should be pre cooked so that it would lose unwanted moisture. Normally it’s great to use an air fryer.
Butterless scone. It’s made with double cream and cornmeal so that it would be moist and very soft. Not crumble at all, getting close to the an airy and fluffy biscuit though. On that, yellow Cheddar cheese and black olives made it a savory scone. Really great for breakfast.
In case making butteress scones, I highly recommend getting it egg washed for rich savoriness. It will make a big difference in a few ways, especially in texture. Once you have one bite of that, quite a good contrast would come to your taste buds.
